The Canneto estate stretches on the western slope of Montepulciano, near the beautiful church of San Biagio and has a long wine tradition behind it.
In the mid-1970s, some friends, wine lovers, residents of the Zurich region, began to regularly import the "table wine" of Montepulciano. Over time, the circle of admirers expanded and their desire to own their own winery arose in their hearts. In 1987 the time came.
With the purchase, the new owners have decided to restore the buildings respecting the wine-growing vocation, building a new cellar, buying machinery, plants and equipment, taking care of and rejuvenating the vines and the olive trees.
From 2017 the company is biologically run.
The farm measures 48 hectares, 32 of which are cultivated in vineyards, 16 of these hectares are reserved for the production of Vino Nobile. The vines are located on marly ground mixed with gravel, located at an altitude between 350 and 400 m above sea level. Further 4 hectares are reserved for olive trees for the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P Terre di Siena.
